What does a digital stamp card cost?
The price depends less on the card than on how the provider charges for it. Here are the models you will meet, what we charge, and the sums for an ordinary café.

The short answer
At Klipz a filled stamp card costs 5 kr excluding VAT. A punch card costs 2 % of its price when the customer activates it, and a free one-time card costs 0 kr. There is no fixed monthly fee, but there is a minimum of 100 kr in a completely quiet month and a 3-month commitment once you are under way. Many other providers charge a fixed amount every month. Which is cheaper for you depends on how many cards your customers fill.
The four ways to pay
- Paper. You pay for the printing and a stamp. It is cheap per card, but cards get lost, stamps can be copied, and you don't know who your regulars are.
- A fixed monthly fee. A digital card for a set amount every month, however much it is used. Easy to budget for, but you pay in the quiet months too.
- Free with limits. Some offer a free version where the card sits in a browser tab instead of the customer's wallet, or where the number of customers is capped. Check what costs extra as you grow.
- Pay as you go. You pay when the card is used, for example when a customer has filled it. This is the model we use. The price follows your activity: little in a quiet month, more when many customers fill their cards.
What Klipz costs
| What | Price |
|---|---|
| A stamp card a customer has filled | 5 kr |
| A redeemed reward on a points card | 5 kr |
| A punch card, when the customer activates it | 2 % of the card's own price |
| A free one-time card | 0 kr |
| Minimum | 100 kr a month once you have added a payment card. Waived in any month with at least 5 cards issued or usage above 100 kr. |
| Commitment | 3 months, from when you have issued 10 cards or had 10 billable events. Until then you can leave at any time. |
Until you have issued 10 cards you need no payment card, and every feature is included from day one. There is no cap on cards or customers, and a message to your members costs nothing. The full wording is in the terms.
The sums for a café
Take a café where a coffee costs 40 kr and a free coffee costs the café about 8 kr in beans, milk and a cup. The numbers are an example; put in your own.
- The card has 10 stamps, so when it is full the customer has bought 10 coffees for 400 kr.
- The reward costs you 8 kr, and Klipz charges 5 kr. A full card costs you 13 kr.
- Spread over the 10 paid visits, that is 1.30 kr a cup, or 3.3 % of what the customer spent.
To the customer the reward is a 40 kr coffee, 10 % of what they spent. It costs you 3.3 % in all, our fee included, because you pay what the coffee costs to make, not what it costs at the till. How many stamps the card should have is worked out in the rules for stamp cards.
What to ask a provider
- Is there a fixed monthly fee, and what do I pay in a quiet month?
- Is there a commitment, and when does it start?
- Does it cost extra per message, per customer or per card?
- Does the customer need an app, or does the card go in the wallet they already have?
- Can I take my customer list with me if I stop?
Our answers: no fixed monthly fee, but a minimum in a completely quiet month; a 3-month commitment from 10 cards; nothing per message or per customer; no app; and you can download your customer list as a file whenever you like. See the prices, or see how other providers answer.
